I'm in dire need of a new pair of winter boots, and I've got my eye on these babies. I can't seem to find any reviews on them, though! I'd appreciate any and all reviews on them, however lengthy or short.

Vintage Bolero and Cardigan Patterns

The other day I was helping my mother price antiques, and I came across this lovely knitting booklet from the 1930/40s, which had the most lolita-looking boleros and cardigans in it! I always wondered where brands like Innocent World and Emily Temple Cute got the ideas for their designs from, and these are very close!

Greetings from one of the mods over at
egl_comm_art!
We're a community based around Lolita artwork, a friendly place to post your work and get helpful critiques (or if you just want to share artwork you did without fear of being torn apart by the non-art community ;)). In addition to being a great place to show off your mad art skillz and ask for help and suggestions, one of the things that we're doing to keep the community active is having art contests!
November theme: Happy Holidays - With the holidays right around the corner, we decided to embrace that in our November theme! The winning piece will be in the community layout for the month of December. Click here for more information. November's theme ends November 22nd.
Contest #4: Wonderland - Alice in Wonderland crosses over with the Lolita universe so often, so with the movie coming up in the spring, we decided to make that our next profile contest! The winning piece will be in the community profile for at least 90 days, and the winner will receive two surprise Alice in Wonderland inspired items. Click here for more information. This contest ends February 15th.
Congratulations to our last profile contest winner, ! Click here to see her piece!
You must be a member in order to enter any of the contests (obviously). If you're interested in becoming a member, please see our community rules here.
Want to become a work of art? We're looking for photo donations! I'd like to expand the resources available to our community artists, and for that, I need everyone's help who's able to contribute! If you have photos that you'd like to donate, and/or would like more information, please see my full post in the art community, here--please post all photos/links in the linked post, not in this egl post.

Question about BodyLine heart buckle shoes.
Nov. 8th, 2009 | 07:58 pm
posted by: tsukishiroaoba in egl
I know this has been brought up before but I could not find the entry so I'll just ask a really quick question here. I know those heart buckle shoes are the replicas of BTSSB. I also think that I heard that the size of them runs bigger so people should order one size smaller than their actual size. If I am a Japanese size 25, I should order a size 24 or 24.5?
I know I sound kind of stupid here but I don't wanna get a wrong size.

So..a while ago I posted something in the EGL community asking about a bodyline dress I liked. Well I measured myself a while ago, and found out i am not a skinny girl. Lol. I'm 5'2 and Im asian, and though I hate stereotypes about asian's having small busts, I have a rather...large bust and a
The two dresses I want would be... these two.

and this one:

They have shirring that extends to 35/36" and the waist is 31"/32". Do you think I could edit them, or it is just better to just not try at all? I dont know. It upsets me. Really it does. Has anyone ever edited one of their dresses that did not fit? How did it go?
What do you all think about the more busty loli's?
Either way this wont discourage me (much) and I will keep dressing in what I love, but surely some of you must understand? :o

Theme Post: Music notes!
Nov. 8th, 2009 | 10:20 pm
posted by: ellehime in egl
I realized that my outfit for today was on theme! You can check it out at my journal.
And for those who could care less about that...
I really like music notes, just because I think they're pretty. I can't read them, I don't know which one's which, but that doesn't stop me from including them in my wardrobe. What I'd like to ask egl is: When you wear music-themed coordinates, do you have people ask you if you are a musician/in a concert/play an instrument? I always seem to get that question, and I have to admit to only being an untrained singer. (I tried my hand at learning guitar and piano, but didn't have the patience.)
Also, how about links to your favorite music-related fabrics? I make my own clothes, so I'm always on the lookout for nice prints. ^-^
